- 1/2 cup Dixie Lily Yellow Corn Quick Grits
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, milk, butter, salt, and pepper to a boil.
- Stir in grits, reduce heat to low, and cover. Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- While the grits cook, fry or scramble the eggs to your preference in a separate skillet.
- Divide the cheesy grits into bowls, top with the cooked eggs, crumbled bacon, and sliced green onions. Serve warm.
